It includes a rechargeable battery and will feed the iPhone 4S with the needed energy. My Boost case came full charged in the package. I later used the microUSB cable to charge from my computer. The full charging time was around 4 hrs. The battery is 1700 mAh which means that it will provide 5, 6 hrs of extra time on an average use of the phone.
Now, a few words on the quality of the case. The Boost case is minimalist which we like generally. It feels solid at hand and grip of iPhone 4S is certainly improved. It is a general hard shell plastic material.
We can say only a minor disadvantage of using Boost iPhone 4S case with battery. It will add to overall weight but the thin factor is not affected that much. Installation is also a very easy process. Apple certified item.
